my 48 did the same thing would idle for hours
with no problem but move it & die no start
part of the problem with the fuel tank was
the pickup line which was clogged / would get clogged with rust / debris in tank and
cut off fuel flow. Before i fixed the tank
i carried a short piece of speedo cable, i
would undo the pickup line & roto rooter the
line into the tank.
