so it must be good for the environment. The picture was from the Economist, so it's not some photo-shopped picture from some whacko website.
The way I see it, he has to have a 3-step plan:
Step 1: Bail out the auto industry.
Step 2: Once they're hooked, tell them they have to build "green" cars.
Step 3: Force Americans to buy "green" cars.
Steps 1 and 2 are already underway. The only question is how he's going to force people to buy "green" cars. Is it going to just give them huge tax credits (like the $8000 for buying a house this year) IF they buy a "green" car? Or is he going to gradually outlaw all other cars via various highway safety and pollution regulations and taxes?
