to support that many dealerships, period. have you heard of a gm, dodge, or ford product save the gt-40 in the last 10 years that you couldn't get? i remember as a kid watching my grandfather order every new car he bought. too many cars enables the dealer to do a search, meaning that some other dealer has the car you want in inventory and no one wants it in HIS neighborhood. seems to me if you reduce production, reduce excess inventory and encourage ordering, if your cars are good your price will go up. i want a 2009 megacab diesel. i havent found the one i want, but im holding out for one on a lot that has my features (totally 100% loaded laramie without cab clearance lights.) i know if i cant find one on a lot and if i ordered one (yes i know they are not making them next year) i would pay much more than i could by buying one on the ground. a dealer has much more incentive to move a truck on his floorplan than one he orders from the factory.
