Jerry and Chris, thanks for your replies. So far, this is what I know... Not CCKW or GTB. Ranger on the WWII dodge page GMC-CHEVY forum says it is not for a GMC or Chevy. He also said most of the big 6X6 trucks like the diamond T's used Garwood's. A GTB owner says the GTB uses a Garwood. Jerry's nice Gama Goat photo - It sure isn't a goat winch. Too old looking for an M35. I wonder if it is off of a GMC M135 or M211 ? I have a link to better photos here. The PTO looking plate is like a PTO cover plate but smaller. I am sure it is an inspection cover. What Chris says it does appear you can reverse the input shaft and end cap so that it will drive from the passenger side or drivers side, which is a good thing. The cable is either 5/8" or 3/4". There is no name cast into it anywhere, that I can see, but there are long strings of numbers stamped into each major component. I will record these and post them when I get a chance. I ended up with 5 winches and 4 drive shafts. The drive shafts appear to be a legnth to drive off of a truck pto. The width of the spool is 1 foot. I also know they are dang heavy. Two average guys cannot pick them up. I had to use my engine hoist to move them. My guess is 400 lbs plus. I am posting a link to better photos here, and also including the link right here to cut and paste if needed. Any more suggestions as what they might have come off of would be appreciated. Thanks...
