I've tried that route but I find it usually costs more. Parts get lost & you're constantly having to pay a guy to bring all his tools out to do 3hrs work & then move your truck back into a corner.
I find the best way to do a restoration if you don't enjoy painting yourself is to find a bodyman who'll tackle the project at his home. Lots of guys do work on the side & if you can find the right guy who can utilize a spray booth at work yet work on your project, start to finish in the comfort of his own shop...for cash.
Sounds like you found a great guy...they're few & far between.
Here in Vancouver we pay $20/hr for a guy to sweep the floor! :)
