Bed questions again

I am attempting to get my first series bed together and I am finding it a challenging puzzle. The one item which had me in deep think was I had some of the wrong supports but have them figured out now.

I am referencing Clint's very nice 3D drawings on the T137 site and had one question, this regarding the last channel support next to the tailgate. In Clints "3D Model view from the Back" photo it appears that the end of the bed boards terminate into the channel providing a protective edge. In the "Original bed boards" photo it appears the wood terminates on top of the channel running wild to the tailgate. I am not sure which is correct for the WDX and if I have the right channel.
