look for one of the boat types that has the bubble gauge on top. the bubble gauge operates off of a magnet that rotates due to the height of the fuel in the tank. there is no electric in the tank. the bubble top can be had with an electric sender pigtail to hook to your gauge. the system is foolproof, better constructed than auto stuff and the bubble gauge provides a double check of what your gauge reads. they are more reliable than any automotive unit i have found and are easier to work on. check tempo products or look on line for boat senders mechanical with electric output.
