Cenex says that their corn head grease is a semi-fluid lithium 12-hydroxystearate grease, not poly urea based. They also say theirs contains extreme pressure additives.

I do not know who makes the John Deere Corn Head grease or what all additives it may have in it. John Deere usually goes overboard on specifying products.

In any case, it looks like corn head grease is perfectly acceptable in something with the low loads, limited motion, and less friction, like our steering boxes. I know the darn stuff is about the same consistancy of warm honey. So the Power-Wagon mechanic experts that have been telling us this for years were correct?
