Don't you think it would at least pop a little bit on ether even if the carb was dry? The trouble with the military intake setup is you can't just look down it and see if the accelerator pump is squirting gas in, or pour some gas in to prime it.

I couldn't remember if the tang was offset or not. I know on my JD 2010 tractor it's not offset so you can put it on either way. Even if the tang is offset, couldn't the drive gear be 180 degrees off? If nothing else works, maybe I should just pull it out enough to disengage the gear, turn the rotor one turn around, and put it back in. Like the military intake, the military distributor is a lot more trouble to remove than the civilian one because it has those steel ventilator lines hooked up to it.

I'm tending to think the trouble must be in the distributor because that's the only thing I changed since the last time it ran that could have anything to do with it not running now. But I could also see the fuel float getting stuck over the winter.
