All good comments.

My thought was using this on two vehicles: 1) my boat and 2) my land cruiser.

For me, I don't have the chance to use the boat very many times per year. The worst result when I have the chance it to encounter a problem - such as a dead battery that results in part or all of the day being spent on repairing the boat. When I have a chance to go the lake, I want to be on the water. The low voltage alarm will give me a chance to charge the battery when needed.

For my Land Cruiser, it has a dual battery system. It always starts. But, it is really hard to keep tabs on the auxillary battery. A couple months ago, I found the yellow top optima to be completely dead. When thinking back, I decided that it had likely been bad for a while. With a 200 Amp alternator, the dead battery had been causing huge wear on the alternator, burning gas, etc.

Are there any other products that would be more highly recommended?

The military is adding these to all their Humvees.

Dan
