It's weird that they would make the frame so weak that it could bend like that. No matter how heavy the trailer is, the only force holding the front end down is the weight of the engine and the truck itself, which is a number the engineers would know. If the frame was designed right, you could pull the trailer hitch right down to the ground, lifting the front end of the truck in the air, without bending the frame. For that matter, the tires should have blown out before the frame bent. Perhaps the engineers never even considered reversed stress on the frame? Or the marketeers overruled them in order to hit the "price point" for the "target market"?
