Hey brian thanks for the concern it was not a good experence to spill down on the nose . it was not the Copeymasters time this time ! you are right about what happened to a point > It was the same special bolt and nut and some 196o something old > the pivot rests on the axle support the bolt has a "bearing surface " for the pivot alowing 30 degrees of twisting for the axle > there are rotational forces applied to the bolt counter and counter clock wise ,the nut sits behind a plate attached to the transmission > the nut is free to float or rotate against the plate factory specs call for .003 006 end play for and aft so the bolt is not tight so to speak just like a wheek bearing is not tight > so the cotter pin after all is lined up torqued & ready t slips in and hold the assembly together not the greastest method but i believe a double nut lock nut installed is far superior my son ~ Copey ps i like your posts very very pro stuff
