Locktite vs Permatex red thread locker

Any significant difference between locktite's red #272 threadlocker and the Permatex version? They used to be the same but split and now Locktite is only available through industrial suppliers while permatex is available through Napa on the shelf. The mfg for this part calls for Locktite #272 but Permatex is easier to get. The application is for an internal engine part, subject to oil, and Permatex say's theirs is ok for that. Thanks.
