The hosting provider of the site, Bravenet, changed the forum software yesterday with no apparent warning. I've been reading the Bravenet support forum and they are getting bombarded by negative feedback from other forum subscribers. I haven't read all of the threads and messages, one of the threads is up to 120 replies, but so far I've only seen 2 subscribers that liked the changes.

Bravenet supposedly warned its subscribers in a newsletter that the changes were coming. Norm may have received it, but I doubt it, there were several paid subscribers that did not receive any advance notification.

They are actively working on fixing the problems with the new software but there is no indication yet that they will be reverting back to the old system.

Personally I don't find it all that objectionable, but it is slower, and I don't particularly care for the mixed format - threaded index and then board style when opening a message. The elapsed time display is annoying as well. I tried to switch it back to date/time stamping but it only displays the date. Bravenet said they are working to restore the date/time display option.
