I have the same truck as Paul described, including the Jake brake, plus I have added Dyna Trac locking hub kit to the front. I do NOT have the gooseneck, but I have pulled over 12000#s several times. For the record, my oldest son has an '04 3500 and the only difference we can find is a couple more spring leaves in the rear. The running gear is identical, except mine has a different 6 speed transmission. My younger son has my old '03, 2500 and just turned over 160000 miles. They are all great trucks. But I don't think you are gaining by going to the 3500, unless your insurance would be less or something weird. JH
