Norm is correct. If the engine is original it should be a 318-1 for 1/2 Ton. The 318-1, 318-2, or 318-3 are truck engines. A transplant from a car would be just 318.
318-1A = 1965
318-1V = 1964
318-1U = 1963
318-1T = 1962
I thinks this is right, but Eric and Norm are in the know
Mine is a 64 and has the 318-1A, but if it was built late in the year it might have gotten the 318-1A
