Every time some "American" company moves it's manufacturing to China in the name of being competitive, notice that the price of their products never changes? And how come the people running these companies can never tighten THEIR belts during slow economic times. It is always the guy making the least amount of money making the sacrifice. An open letter to those that are based in the US, consider themselves "American" products, yet have their maufacturing overseas: I WILL NOT buy your products. I do not live in China, I do not work in China, and I will not Buy Chinese made products. I don't care if they are 10 cents a dozen at Horribe Frieght. A perfect example is Blue Point, marketed by Snap On. Used to be high quality AMERICAN made products sold under the Snap On label. Now, mostly made in China for double what you could but a KD or similar product made in AMERICA for. This just pisses me off! Sorry for the rant, but just got back from having a beer with a buddy that got laid off from 'The Friendly Skies', because, after working for THE BEST maintenance station in UAL's system (PDX), management thought it was cheaper to outsource the work. Think about the maintenance quality level of the person who has worked on YOUR airplane the next time you travel for $49 from LAX to Disneyworld in Florida now that the work is being done cheaper elsewhere. And consider where you might be able to pull and wait for help over when the pilot pushes the OnStar button on the dash. Sorry, but outsourcing jobs from this country to save money is doing nothing to rebuild the sad state of our economy. All it is doing is padding the pockets of those that do not deserve it. Bring work back to America and let's start rebuilding this country back to what it once was.
