Back in the day, I had a 1976 Plymouth Volare with a 225 slant six. I had bought the car slightly used with an unlimited mileage warranty. As I understand, this was the first/only time Chrysler offered a 12-unlimited mileage warranty. On a drive East, from California, the engine failed in Lyman, Wyoming. We had to have it towed back to Evanston, where, even though the car had about 18,000 miles, it also still had several months of warranty left. I got a new engine. The diagnosis on the problem was a spun main bearing.

Once the car was fixed it ran another 25 years with no engine problems.
I just wonder if Chrysler was having some problems with their 225's during that 75-76
period?
