Why pull diff when you break an axle?

Here is why!
Pulled the M37 axles apart for rebuild and found this big chunk of broken axle sitting in the bottom of the housing. The existing axles were intact, so this was from a prior break. It had at some point bounced around and sheared off one of the ring gear nuts and took a whack at a second. A couple of gouges in the carrier but nothing terminal. This is the rear diff, it will become the front and move the front back to the rear.
I cant believe whoever replaced the broken axle didnt miiss this large piece when they got the broken pieces out!
Tim
