OT sand driving

I see in the post below alot of you have driven in loose sand. I have rented a house for a week on the beach north of Duck NC. To get to the house you have to drive 8 miles down the beach. I will be in a 07 tahoe loaded with everything I can stuff in it. I am thinking I will need to lower my tire pressure to 20 psi and put it in low range. It has traction control I think spinning the tires would be a bad thing. Thanks for the input
