Woody -Gas tanks & bumpers

I'd like to hear some opinions about plastic gas tanks as I need a new tank. I'm also wondering your thoughts about a rear bumper like the 1 in the picture. My truck is significantly longer behind the rear wheel so it would be a great place to mount a spare tire. All comments are welcome I want to make sure I consider everything.
