Tim,
I took my spring pack apart. I am glad I did as I found enough rust to prevent the leaves from sliding against each other. They were sort of "adhered" to each other.
I blasted, primed and painted them. I then got some marine grease and greased between the leaves before assembly.
I had contacted DuPont and although I do not remember all the details, getting the teflon sheets to go between the leaves was going to cost over a hundred dollars!. So, I went with the sticky marine grease.
