i have a gmc yukon xl and am seriously considering replacing it with a dodge cummins truck. would have done it long ago if i could get a suburban type body. looking to shift my wife into a full size suv so that i can be more flexible in my choice and we will still have a truck (hers) that can travel on the car only parkways. if im going full bore into this, i think i will want a new or nearly megacab diesel for the kids(although I prefer the crew cab 1500 new style). if im going to drive it everyday and occasionally pull my 10k lb boat, what setup should i be looking for? do i need a 3500 or can i get away with a srw setup on a 3500 or 2500. i like the idea of stick, but will go auto b/c its stop and go around here for the most part. what should i be considering? from a simplicity basis, id get an old 12v, but i drive a lot and there are little to no creature comforts in them. what fuel mileage can you expect in a stocker with at 4x4 configuration?
