Really? No doubt they are and cheap to build with but they have issues that need to be considered. WIDTH will make your rig 8 feet wide with making modifications. WEIGHT is a issue as well...without the stock drums, again without drums the axles weighes over 750lbs. I am know rockwell expert but I was told a stock set weighes 1850....someone can correct that. A stock pair of Dana 60 weigh under 850. So add a 1000 pounds to your rig not to mention the added beef that is need to support the Rocks. Name a motorsport were weight is a good thing? There are great aftermarket parts available but like all aftermarket stuff...it comes at a price. GEAR RATIO options are none existent. Don't forget Rocks are 9" from center of diff to drive flange.....making it harder to keep your rig low.

That being said, to each is own, Dodge vs Chevy vs Ford...do what makes you happy. Roger's truck is awesome and i betcha a heck of a lot of fun to drive.

Expensive but Hybrid 609's (High pinion Ford 9" center) with psuedo -Dana 60 outers are very lightweight. They can be 35 or 40 splined throughout and can even turn up to 60 degrees. A pair wiegh a little more than a stock dana 60 and incerdibly strong.
