Tim,
It's very do able, but you have drive faster then 46 1/2 miles and hour. I drive 80-82 mph and sometimes faster when on the interstate.

I left Wi were I was living at the time with a Jeep and some feight going to Grand Junction Colo. I left Wi on Friday 4 p.m. Saturday mid moring I was in GJ Colo, 1350 miles. Late late sat. night I was in Las Vegas NV 1850 miles from Wi. I then slept, at the crack on dawn Sunday I loaded a 69 vette and a 70 el camino, and parts of 2nd vette the guy had parted. Sunday mid day when it was all loaded I headed back for Wi, (1850 miles) with the load of chevys.

Tuesday early morning I was back in Wi, unloaded the chevys, changed the oil on my truck, and headed back to Las Vegas to pickup a 65 W200 Crewcab, and a 58 W200 I bought in southern Ut. Wednesday night late I was back in Las Vegas to pick up my 65 W200 CC, then off to Ut to get my 58 W200, then back to Wi, I was back in Wi mid day Friday. Two trips to Vegas in 7 days and 1850 miles one way times four is 7400 miles so I was off by a few hunderd miles but it was still a lot of driving and can be done if you dont lolly gag!!

I found that if you fill up at the big truck island where the semis fill up you can fill a pickup with 35 gallon tank in less then 3 minutes, so get off of the interstate and pull in to a truck stop and fill the truck take quick wiz, pay for the fuel and if you dont do any other looking around you can be back on the hwy in well under 10-12 minutes. Passengers are what really slow you donw at stops, they want to look around, get something to eat, and look around so more. I have found if you travel alone you get places a lot faster. Stop fill truck and pay for fuel take wiz, back on hwy Fast! When your alone. And yes I always used to travel with a big cooler full of food from the wife, I very rarely stop to eat on the road or buy food or drinks, it was all a arms legth away in the cooler.

Then there was another time I left Wi to ND for VPW to get a 70 W300, after it was at Vpw I went back to ND to get two PW's for Doug Higgins in Colo, after I dropped them at dougs place I went to KS for Vpw and pickup a town wagon and a wc12 and a FFPW, took them to Vpw, back up to Nd to pickup a john deere crawler that was going to Mi. That whole trip was also done in a week from the time I left Wi and to the time I was back in Wi.

I am not pulling aby legs, there have been a few forum members that have gone on some of these crazy trips with me, they can tell you that I drive and drive and drive.

ask Eric B, or John G, about the time we went to Mt, after I had been hauling crewcabs all week out of Neb for Vpw, then off to Mt, all without much sleep.

Matt
