This guy was pruning that apple tree fro me. The only explanation I can offer is that I have seen that moose (antlerless bull) bedded down by my neighbor's horse corral in some pretty deep snow. There are lots of coyotes in our area and I thought maybe a couple of them snuck up on him while he was bedded down and latched onto his ears. I saw a cow and a calf a couple of days ago and their ears are intact. They are wonderful creatures, and we love having them around. JH
