guys- it is clear that i have fallen down the pertronix rabbit hole again and have taken some of you with me! sorry to clint if he thought i was somehow being disagreeable - it wasn't my intent. i tried to relate that it was available in 6v+ ground and might be an improvement if he was seeking a change. it seems that whenever pertronix is mentioned, i can not help myself & provide my personal input - strange part is i don't know why. it turns into an endless conversation, without beginning, middle or end. no decisive consensus is ever reached and there are many schools of thought on points vs electronic triggers. some people swear by the units and some don't see a value. i've even agitated poor moparnorm from time to time on the mopar ignition conversion vs pertronix debate. sorry to him too. i will try never to opine on the subject again as i only have one dodge truck and it is set up my way. do as you will with points, electronic distributors, etc. On an engine with less than 100 HP that travels less than 50mph in stock form, it likely that properly set points will last a long time and that the electronic upgrades are only valuable if the owner thinks the improvements are worth the price.
