I've been looking into this for my 1st Gen, but since I am using a full 4" exhaust (turbo back) I am not using a turbo mount brake.

There are B-D brakes for the 1st Gen which either fit on the turbo or downstream. Check page 18 here: http://newsletters.bdincgroup.com/2008cat/BD_2008_Catalog.pdf
I gather that 60# valve springs are required to develop sufficient back pressure.
