I'll let you know how things pan-out. It's not a critical thing for me right now as there is so much to do on the rest of the truck, but I am certainly leaning toward recreating the stud rather than anything else. As I've mentioned along the way - I like the set-up - it's versatile.
Also, if there are any dimensions from it (spacer & studs) that you'd like to have, I would be happy to send your way.
