If you have a Romer arm your guys were probably using the HighRES plug-in for ProE.

There is also a HighRES plug-in for SolidWorks as well.

The plug-in is integrated into SolidWorks and captures data directly into SolidWorks Sketches.

If your company already has the plug-in for ProE you can probably get some reduction for the purchase of a plug-in for Solidworks.
