It just broke from being overstressed when I tried to break it loose last winter with the tracks frozen to the ground. I heard several bangs, and then it wouldn't go. I got out and looked down and saw the front drive shaft hanging there so I figured all I'd done was blow the front U joint. I should have thought that since it has a full-time transfer case, something in the rear must have blown too. I thought it was okay when I fired it up this winter because it would go, but didn't realize it was dragging its rear end around.
