You really made some good points here, and I agree with you.
The unfortunate aspect of this is that not all who embark on the modifications that we are talking about (brakes, steering, lifting, etc.) are as diligent as they might be. Many, by their own admission, are clearly looking for the cheapest and simplest way to do something, not necessarily due to laziness, but sometimes due to monetary restraints. This freedom to do so brings with it the possibility of harm to oneself or to others. You are right..there is no answer. No one wants a set of regulation as to what to do and how to do it and who should do it. We just hope that forums like this and discussions like this will help everyone to upgrade their choices a little and to benefit from the experiences, whether good or bad, of others.
