The shims are thin paper .006 thk, .011 thk. The side gasket is think and hard gasket material. The steering gear with worn teeth is ok to use, you just need to make sure you follow the adjustment procedures and that you can turn the steering tube right to left, end to end without it bidding. If it does, back off the adjustment screw till it doesn't. The gear with pitting - if you have to grind it, forget using it. If they are small pits, you probably could use it ok. As for the cork gasket it, forget that and use a neoprene seal SKF# 12723.

As far as the gaskets, you can make them, but that's a pain, or contact A.B. Linn and get the shims/gasket for an M37 - they are the same.
