I have a 42 WC53 Carryall. It has the same running gear as your PW. I can travel at 70 to 75 MPH all day down the highway. The truck has the following done to it. It is because of this that it will do those speeds.

1) Disk brakes on front axle. Rear brakes all new and drums turned.
2) 4.89 gears and all new bearings. Rear has ARB locker.
3) V8 engine.
4) All steering and axle bearings and bushings replaced with new. Everything! That stops any vibration.
5) New drag link ends.
6) 9.00 X 16 Michelin XL tires.

Basically you need to rebuild the entire drive train and suspension to get rid of any slop that will result in any vibrations. You will never get highway speeds with the flathead 6. It was not built with that much power. Ther truck was build for a different era when speed limits were lower and for off road work.

Some people have put performance parts on their flathead 6. Dul cars, cam, dual exhaust and etc. This will help but not enough to get you to modern road speeds.

The axles and everything in the drive line is good enough for higher speeds. The bears are plenty big and etc. The drive line can take it. The brakes are not good enough for much above 45 MPH. I know. I did a couple of stops from 60 MPH in my carryall before I put in disk brakes. By the end of the first stop there was so much brake fading that I wonder if I would be able to stop. That is why disk brakes came to being.
