My Carryall got a depot rebuild in November of '53. In that rebuild it got the later style front axle with the right spring perch for tube shocks. As far as I can tell, they did not install tube shocks. They just mounted the axles that were now standard inventory.
I wouldn't be surprised if a late depot rebuild of a WC63 got the 1.96 transfercase, which would be the same as the M37s then currently in use.
