Turns out I have 12 old car/truck tube-powered AM radios in various degrees of decrepitude, none of which looks remotely like it even "ran when parked". There are two Mopar 800s. The other one is missing its knobs and its side cover, but has all the innards and tubes intact and the dial looks good. Amongst the others there's a Philco AR-1, a Delco AC-2905 (marked "Studebaker") on the dial, a "FoMoCo" 5MF with a big round dial, something with a Chevy bow-tie on the dial, a large Philco speaker with a slatted grill, and 4 others that are so scruffy that I couldn't find any make or model on them. The Motorola and the Delco proclaim that they are 12 volt, so that must have been the exception rather than the rule back then. I don't know how I ended up with so many, but I'm sure I'll use them someday.
