Do you mean that the push rod goes in the back, as in this is mounted on the firewall and worked by a hanging pedal? I was thinking of the old FFPW/M37 kind. If it's leaking out around the push rod, that's not uncommon on an old MC (the push rod boot will hide it for a while), but that shouldn't happen with a good rebuilt MC. I would take the MC apart and see now it looks inside. Make sure it really does have a new kit inside with good soft cups, and make sure the cylinder bore is smooth. I've always been too cheap to buy a professionally rebuilt MC myself. I've just honed them as best I could and put a kit in them (same with the wheel cylinders). There are always some pits left on the the cylinder walls and they always leak a bit. I wouldn't tolerate it if I'd paid real money for a professionally rebuilt one.
