Yesterday was historic. Not only for this country but also for the world.

Did I vote for the guy? No! I do not agree with his politics plain and simple. I do respect what he has been able to accomplish. I respect the consitution and the rights of the people. Something that many people have forgotten.

I will give him a chance. I will respect the office of the President. However, when he or the government tries to deny basic rights of the people especially the right to "Life, liberty and the persuit of happiness" to any individual, then I must object and follow what the the founding fathers put in the Declaration of Independance. "We hold these Truths to be self-evident, that all Men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness."

Our country has not done very well in this area, otherwise Obama would not be the first black to be president. However, we have made lots of progress as demonstrated yesterday. Unfortunately we still do not even provide the unalienable right to life for many in this country. Sadly the majority of these are also black. Sadly President Obama has demonstrated that he is willing to support and continue this practice.
