M35 seat top?

This is just a wild idea, and I haven't looked to see if it might work, but as I remember, the old box-style (non air-ride) M35 seats have an arrangement for sliding them backwards and forwards. There's a slotted piece on one side of the seat and a spring-loaded tab that fits into one of the slot. If you have access to a junk M35, it might be worth a look. Maybe you could take the M37 seat off at the hinge without damaging anything, and somehow adapt the M35 top to the M37 box.
