I've hauled Gen Shelton, Gov Hunt, and MANY other General's in mine since she returned to life ten+ years ago while I was on active duty. (does this mean she was ALSO the one of the last on duty? they have a few out there still pulling duty occasionally, like Grafenwohr, Germany) Although I need to go through her again, the value I set is around 18K due to history, etc. the markings are cute, but I don't agree with them (who would mark the map table as a table?, and no step seems like an Air Force thing)
Top price I've seen asked was the one the gentleman rebuilt with his son (sending pics monthly to the Power Wagon Advertiser) asking 30k.
Best deal I've seen was the one Alan Farrier had bought for $600. It needed work, but I did the same type work for mine, and he asked 2000 or so HERE on the classifieds after obtaining all the hard parts.
I estimate the cost of my restoration is now around $7500 (Max) and that includes upgrading the brakes to disc, and the 4:30 ratio's ($200, for a pair of complete third members at time of purchase) Add a couple of grand for my "work time" and the price would tend to be around 10-12k.

Although mine is "Valuable", I thouroughly USE it, unlike others I've seen that are lovely display pieces and take the trophies at the shows, but can't be allowed to park on the grass or drive to an event. (I don't have the money to park my stuff)
This weekend I did a DoD 50th Anniversary Inchon landing, here in Norfolk, Va., using Army landing craft, we towed my US 57mm AT gun off the boats (Cmd Car was never intended to be a prime mover, but use what you have, and no one else showed up with a 6x6 Dodge..)
Salt spray all over her for two days. I'll wash her, but she doesn't ask for any special treatment, and sits awaiting the next mission. (october 18th, Yorktown Day Parade celebrating victory over the British) She ran great and loved being the parade leader for the afternoons parade, carrying the disabled vets that couldn't march.

Use em, that's the way to both enjoy them and keep them happy.
The WC56 is worth 15k tops, add 2k for the toys with it. IMHO e-bay is NOT the place to buy. Last week a 37mm drill round (maybe a $35-45 item right!) went for

$460

S T U P I D ? Who knows, maybe they will have a NEW creative use for it.
