As Mr. A.A. states not many made or sold. There were only 98 v-8 models & 96 of the 6 banger W300's made for '59 model year. I have seen less than a half dozen or so of this model/year in my quest of Power Giant Power Wagon documentation. All W300's of this '58-'60 era are uncommon today, but '58 & '60 models seem to have surfaced in greater quanity (a doz & 1/2 or so of each by my tracking accounts, like that is a lot...compare that to Mopar Muscle car #'s)
Value is purely a buyers preference, trucks with the 9' Utiline boxes, V-8's are more sought after along with wide back windows, but the reality most are found now equipped as fire rigs, flatbeds, tow rigs or utility box trucks. A real nice original '60 W300 with a 318 poly V8 has been to the Iowa Rally a few times and was priced in the 6-7k range.
When sold new they cost as much as a WM style 300. The many options offered added considerable extra cost, so I would not say they were "cheap" back then.
If you decide you don't like it you could export this specimen to Texas for meltdown. But before you do that take some nice photos of it for me...please.
