Yes, we had a real thumping early fall storm. Unusual because of the extremely violent thunder and lightning with it. Locally, we had from 6 to 18 inches on the ground.

I caught Bill Ward, owner of Snowy Range, Inc., who has several Oshkosh and Unimog snow plows and snow blowers. Bill was busy plowing local businesses with his Case Unimog.

Next, I visited Duane Carpenter at his ranch South of Evanston on Yellow Creek. He had a steer that had gotten out of the pasture, so we loaded up his Old English Sheepdog, Rags, and eased along behind the steer through drifts up to 24 inches deep. The steer cooperated and went right back to the pasture. Rags was also happy to be riding instead of 'heeling' the steer. Duane and I talked Power Wagons and old cars while we rode along. He had sold both of his old Power Wagons to Steve Wataha in Rock Springs, Wyoming last year.

After leaving Duane's place, I drove North of Evanston into Utah a short way close to Woodruff Narrows Reservoir. What a real pleasant day, cruising along in the falling snow in a Power Wagon with a smooth running flathead 6. I am tired and happy after my 'old iron' vitamin shot.

I had hoped to go South of Evanston to Ren Lester's ranch on Sulfur Creek, but ran out of time. Ren also has an old Power Wagon that he plans to restore sometime in the future.
