If you have only one PW, go rear only. Front is good for hardcore stuff, but makes for less pleasurable "easy 4-wheelin'". I once had to BACK up a steep narrow, twisty dead end 4x4 track on the side of a canyon in my front & rear locker equipped WDX. Belive me it was a royal pain, 4x4 was required & locked rig wants to pull straight. Unlocking one front hub helped, but is risky for breakage.
