230 T137 Oil Pan differences

I'm in the final stages of trying to "wake-up" my '48 B1 PW after its long nap... 20 years. I decided to drop the oil pan to clean-out any sludge and check for any oddities that may be in the pan as I did with my '47. But man, what a @#$&^ of a time I've had getting this oil pan off.

I didn't remember having a hard time at all with the '47 and then I realized why; different configuration. Since the truck was found on a ranch that had a lot of rocky terrain, I thought that I was just dealing with a swapped-out pan... thinking they beat-up the old one - not so apparently. But I was really surprised by it because of the shots I've seen of 230 engines, they have all appeared to have the same oil pan as pictured on the left(below). The '48 pan is on the right.

The oil pick-up is certainly different too I noticed; this is what leads me to believe it's the correct pan for the engine. If all is correct, the configuration change happened somewhere between these two Engine ID's (pretty far spread I know).

1947 PW - T137-454
1948 PW - T137-11794

If anyone can confirm this or has anything to add I'd be interested know.

Thanks.
