get a copy of zoning regs and all ordinances, read em twice. Be reasonably cooperative with officials. Too late in life when I learned to be flexible. My old motto was screw em but i usually wound up screwing myself and harboring anger and misdirecting it at the wrong folks.Stay cool and "play" I said "play" stupid. Inspectors like to think they're smarter than you.I have a neighbor who called the town on my trucks which I parked on the street during the day while my addition was being built.My trucks came in every night and were parked behind 15' holly bushs and can't be seen from road. I left one of 6 trucks out overnight by mistake and jerko called the cops about overnight parking.She thought she won, even bragged to another neighbor that she got me. back to reading the regs, it turns out that its true that overnight parking in the street is a no no.However as per the rules I can park my vehicles on the front yard as long is its not on grass. here comes a load of woodchips between the road and my fence of holly bushes. Now she can get an eyeball full 24 hours a day. Its great when young teens congregate and admire the trucks late at night. She comes back with "according to the rules any vehicle parked in front yard must be moved every three days". I respond "that seems reasonable thanks for the tip". Depending on my mood and schedule I will rearrange the truck line up, usually at 10:59:59 PM before the noise ordinance kicks in. turns out that some of her bushes are not in compliance with the 10 ft setback from the road and could obstruct drivers view. may have to come down if someone complains! I'll save that ace for later, because I'm a reasonable guy dont ya know
