Alternator

I stopped in at the local automotive electrical shop. They said that a single wire alternator should be fine but there may be an issue with output at lower RPM's. Apparently the one Napa sold me isn't good for the lower revs. They'll put it on the bench and tell me for sure. I want to go with higher amps to help offset the 12 volt hydraulic pump on the plow. Apparently Delco makes one rated at 130 amps with good low RPM output - it just costs more.

What kind of RPM's does the flathead put out at idle speeds?
