Dana I would not worry too much about mixing the rings and wheels. As long as there is SOME gap at the joint all will be ok. The ring is held on by the tire's outside bead area and when inflated the forces on the ring are in the thousands of pounds. I bought 4 rings from VPW and installed them on my wheels which were goodyears and one budd. The ring gaps are all around 1/8" to 1/4". The biggest issue is to make sure some gap exists as that means it is fully seated in the ring groove ( as long as the wheels groove is clean and rust free). I have had no worries over the past three years with these rings installed. just my thoughts Terry.
