that tells you- "hey, you can get an oil filter or a dist cap, locally for a good price without paying me the vig and the shipping" & come see us for the hard stuff. vpw is good at what they do, but they are more often then not a clearing house for parts. sometimes their suppliers drop ship to you and its pretty obvious who the supplier was. im close to being done with my command car now and have spent the last 10+ years developing resources to find what i need. i really enjoy the search and my favorite part of the quest is meeting people who actually rebuild and refurbish parts. i spent some time at apple hydraulics when i had me knee shocks done and was blown away by the process. ditto the ww2 machinist who rebushed my pedals while i waited, the wiper man on long island who is the only trico guy left. i bought a full set of nos gauges at beltring in the UK, got a nos running board from gary mooney and a nos fuel tank from brian asbury and bought a lot of good stuff from the late dave anwell. its the search guys - sometimes vintage makes it TOO easy!!! to be fair, they offer a good service, are responsive and are the only power wagon outfit out there.
