With states revenue down, they will be going after every dollar they can get. And Sales Tax's are on top of their list.
Once a selling company get's audited for taxes, they have been found to not charge/collect them, they get audited every year until they can consistently prove they have the problem corrected, and are are in compliance.
It becomes there responsibility to collect the taxes for what ever state they sell in. Most don't bother and leave it up to the buyer to claim tax-exempt, or pay them as applicable.
Get ready for no more tax-free out of state purchases.
