Well, now you're sounding like a guy from New York. If you've got 10 million potential customers in the city, who cares if you piss one of them off. I guess I presented my "real auction house" scenario wrong for you. I shouldn't be asking you to empathize with the guys who went to the auction thinking that the highest bidder among them would get the truck. Okay, we'll leave empathy out. We don't give a rip if they get upset or not. HOWEVER, if the auction house pulls that stunt too many times, they're going to get a reputation, and people are going to stop going to their auctions. Where I live, it's a little different from New York. We have 1000 people in this city, and 35,000 in the whole county. Reputations matter, and word of crooked dealing spreads fast. A good deal has to be good for both parties. If you jack somebody around here and tell them "Tough. That's life. It's not always the way you want.", you're going to run out of customers pretty fast. Come to think of it, the only truly bad deal I've ever had on ebay was with a guy from New York. I'll consider myself warned.
